BENNINGTON — The Select Board got a look this week at the preferred design for three planned state roundabouts in Bennington; they quickly decided they needed more time before voting to endorse the plan.

Board members said they wanted time to study details of the proposed design for upgrading three key intersections on the north side of town, and to allow for feedback from residents.

The proposal was detailed Monday in a presentation on the results of a scoping study of alternative designs by the Vermont Agency of Transportation and the project consulting firm, VHB .

The officials were seeking a board endorsement of the preferred option to allow work to be placed on a VTrans priority funding and scheduling list of projects from around Vermont.
