The NBA Cup is supposed to feel bigger, louder, and bolder, but for Luka Doncic, one part of the spectacle is crossing into unsafe territory. After the Lakers’ recent Cup game, Doncic didn’t hold back when asked about the specially designed in-season tournament court at Crypto.com Arena. His message was simple: fix it.
“Just the courts, please,” Luka said immediately when reporters asked what needs to change. When pressed on what he meant, he didn’t sugarcoat it. “It’s just slippery, it’s dangerous,” Doncic added that he could feel the problem even before tip-off. “Yeah… I could tell pre-game,” he said. “I slipped a lot, I slipped a lot of times, and you could see a lot of players slip and that’s dangerous, man.”
