Nodding off to sleep isn't always simple. Many of us find that our brains become hyperactive at bedtime with anxieties about the following day's responsibilities, or embarrassing incidents from years past.
You may also find that you need specific conditions to help you drop off, such as keeping the room at a particular temperature so you're neither too hot nor too cold, or making sure every light source is switched off so there's nothing glowing in the gloom.
