Derby County could boost Birmingham City’s finances by taking Dion Sanderson off their hands.

Out-of-favour defender Sanderson joined the Rams in August to link up with John Eustace at a fourth different club.

The 25-year-old was a substitute in Derby’s opening day defeat to Stoke City but has become a fixture in their back-line since.

Derby have charged up the Championship table to eighth, one place and one point ahead of Blues, and Sanderson has been a key figure in the middle of their back three.

Sanderson has impressed to such an extent that ex-Blues boss Eustace is already entertaining questions about making the loan deal a permanent transfer.

Asked whether that could be done, Eustace told DerbyshireLive: "Possibly, for sure.
