The club has reached a deal with 29-year-old Vinny Capra on a minor league contract, according to MLB’s transactions log. According to a source, the Red Sox identified Capra as a priority add in minor league free agency when the market opened late last month.
Capra’s deal includes a major league spring training invite and an opt-out/assignment clause on July 1 if he’s not in the majors then.
