MESA, AZ (AZFamily) — A man faces aggravated assault charges after police said he caused a multi-vehicle crash late Thursday in Mesa.
Just before midnight, officers responded to the area of Alma School Road and Main Street on reports of a three-car crash and at least one man running from the scene with a crowbar.
There were reports of gunfire, but police said they found no evidence that anyone had been shot.
Authorities began searching for the man, later identified as 44-year-old Cy McCabe, before a police dog led officers to a nearby trailer park where they found him.
Police say McCabe was resistant and noncompliant, and officers used less-lethal force before the K-9 was deployed and bit McCabe, leading to him being taken into custody.
