SAUGERTIES, N.Y. — A week after opening its doors in the heart of the village, an illegal pot shop was shuttered by the state Office of Cannabis Management.
Saugerities Convenience, located at 72 Partition St., was shut down following a raid on the business on Nov. 24. State investigators said they also seized all the illegal product.
In an email in response to a Freeman inquiry, Taylor Randi Lee, a spokeswoman for the Office of Cannabis Management, called the business an “illicit, unlicensed store.”
In addition to operating without a license, Lee said the business “was displaying and selling product that would be appealing to youth enticing them to purchase.”
