Ole Miss head coach Lane Kiffin walks off the field during a college football game between Mississippi State and Ole Miss at Davis Wade Stadium in Starkville, Miss., on Friday, Nov. 28, 2025. The Egg Bowl game marks the 122nd meeting between the two teams.

This won't shock you in the least: Lane Kiffin didn't address his coaching future before the Egg Bowl win over Mississippi State and he made sure not to say what he was thinking afterwards.

But that was because, as he said on ESPN, he hadn't made up his mind yet over whether he was staying at Ole Miss to continue leading the Rebels or leaving for LSU (seems like Florida is all but out).

"I got a lot of praying to do to figure that out tomorrow," he said. Which means that the Saturday announcement we're all waiting for might be coming in a day, as was previously announced.

Why would Lane Kiffin leave Ole Miss?

It could be more money. It could be that there's a bigger talent pool to choose from. It could be a new challenge. Maybe he'll answer that if he does decide to leave.
