Supervisor Jennifer Allen is urging the Pima County Board of Supervisors to back a resolution that calls on the Arizona State Legislature to tax nicotine and vaping products, with the funds directed to First Things First, an early childhood education program.

Currently, First Things First faces a severe funding shortfall due to declining tobacco tax revenues, which have decreased by 47% since 2008, according to a memorandum.
