The New Jersey Department of Human Services, which faced limited funding and stopped taking new applications for child care subsidies in August, will reopen applications beginning in January.
About 75,000 children will be eligible for the state Child Care Assistance Program (CCAP), the state announced on Wednesday. Registration forms will be available next month.
“The limited number of available slots will be offered to priority groups… that include families with children experiencing homelessness, children with special needs, and children from households with very low incomes,” the state said in its announcement.
Among the requirements for parents are at least one of these:
Must be working full time (30 hours or more a week)
Attending school full time (12 credits or more)
