HOLYOKE — Dick’s — fresh off its acquisition of Foot Locker — will build one of its newer large-format House of Sport stores in the former Sears at the Holyoke Mall .

Mall spokeswoman Kristen Hinckley confirmed the plans Friday. The new store had been in the works for more than a year.

She had no estimated opening date.

Dick’s officials in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, have not responded to repeated emails and calls asking for details, or what this new store means for existing Dick’s locations in Hadley, West Springfield and Enfield, Connecticut.

In a message to investors earlier this month, Dick’s said it opened 13 new House of Sport locations and six new Dick’s Field House locations during the third quarter.
