NEWBURGH, Maine (WABI) - This weekend, hundreds of families are expected to pick out their Christmas tree in time for the holiday season, with Piper Mountain’s Christmas Trees in Newburgh being a chosen spot for many.
The farm opened its doors for the Christmas season last Saturday. With Black Friday being the busiest day of the year, families spent the day deciding on which tree to get. Those who work at Piper Mountain say the tradition spans generations.
“I grew up going out the day after Thanksgiving, going out in the woods, barbeque breakfast, bring out your coffee, go cut down trees in the trees in the woods with family and friends” says co-owner Jesse Jimerson.
“Going out and searching for the trees, meeting different people at this farm,” says Roland Clements, who works part time
