Tragedy on the Seward Highway Thanksgiving night.
On Thursday at around 7 p.m., Alaska State Troopers responded to a two-vehicle collision near mile 64. Preliminary reports indicate both vehicles were traveling southbound when they collided.
63-year-old Michael Rudy of Anchor Point was pronounced dead at the scene. Two other individuals were taken to an Anchorage-area hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
The Seward Highway was closed for roughly two and a half hours while investigators worked the scene. Rudy’s body has been sent to the State Medical Examiner, and his next of kin have been notified.
