CRANSTON – Police say they've arrested a many on multiple charges after they allege that he caused a crash that led to the death of a Johnston woman on Wednesday, NOv. 26.
At at around 3:40 p.m. on Wednesday, troopers from the Scituate Barracks responded to calls about a single motor vehicle crash on Route 295 south, south of Plainfield Pike, in the city of Cranston.
Witnesses to the crash stated that the driver of a Honda Accord, traveling in the high-speed lane, was forced off the roadway by another driver and entered the center median where the vehicle struck a tree.
The operator of the Honda, identified as Casey Bassignani, age 23, of Johnston, was transported to Rhode Island Hospital by Cranston Rescue, where she was pronounced deceased.
