NORMAL, Ill. — Several high school football state championship games are being postponed due to inclement weather.
Illinois State University has announced that it is closing its campus on Saturday due to the impending winter storm. It is expected to hit large portions of the state, including the Bloomington-Normal area.
ISU's campus closure will force the IHSA to postpone the second day of the 2025 IHSA Football State Finals. They were set to be held at ISU's Hancock Stadium in Normal.
The Class 5A, 6A, 7A, and 8A state championships will be postponed to a later day, but not to Sunday, according to the IHSA .
IHSA Executive Director Craig Anderson said he expects the games to be played "in the coming days."
