A woman who went missing during an international cruise has been located, police said

Ann Evans did not return to Holland America’s Rotterdam ship on Nov. 20 after disembarking for an organized island tour in Philipsburg, Sint Maarten

Police confirmed she was found eight days later

Ann Evans , the woman who was reported missing from a Holland America cruise, has been found.

In a statement provided to PEOPLE on Friday, Nov. 28, a Holland America Line spokesperson confirmed that the 55-year-old American citizen who was last seen exiting the company’s Rotterdam ship on Nov. 20 has been located.

“We appreciate the efforts of local authorities in Sint Maarten and we’re glad to see the situation has been resolved,” the statement said.
