RUTLEDGE - Just as they did on the first night of the Pizza Inn Thanksgiving Classic, the Jefferson County Patriots used an offensive outburst to secure a win on Wednesday night, this time in a 66-47 win over host team Grainger.
“We were kind of relaxing on the defensive end and we had to get on to them a little in between the break,” Jefferson County head coach Kyle Briggs said. “I thought that effort on the defensive end carried over to the offensive end and that’s what sparked our run.”
With the game tied at 14-14 after a three by the Grizzlies’ Carter Williams early in the second period, the Patriots reeled off 12 unanswered points and eventually built a 36-18 lead at halftime.
