A winter weather advisory was issued by the National Weather Service on Friday at 5:31 p.m. in effect until Saturday at 1 a.m. for Schenectady, Albany and Rensselaer counties.
"Additional snow accumulations up to four inches. Winds gusting as high as 35 mph," can be expected according to the weather service. "A heavy lake effect band is currently impacting the Capital District, with snowfall rates of one to two inches per hour and reduced visibilities of 1/4 of a mile."
"Roads, and especially bridges and overpasses, will likely become slick and hazardous. Plan on slippery road conditions.
