DOUGLAS COUNTY, Colo. (KKTV) - Crews are responding to a reported eight-acre fire near the Turkey Track Shooting area in Douglas County.
According to the U.S. Forest Service, the “Turkey Tracks 69 Fire” is 14.4 miles northwest of Woodland Park, off Highway 67 and Forest Service Road 343.
Officials said the fire is human-caused, and the Forest Service and local fire departments are on scene.
Forest Service says crews are taking “an indirect approach” to containing this fire due to unexploded ammunition.
The containment percentage is unknown as of this article’s last update.
Officials said smoke will be visible for the next few days as fuels continue to burn within the fire perimeter.
