The Canadian Union of Public Employees (CUPE) Local 1792, representing staff at the Glen Stor Dun Lodge, said they reached an agreement with the City of Cornwall this week.
Union members and supporters sat in on multiple city council meetings and rallied outside of city hall since first holding a job action in mid-September outside of the municipally owned and operated long-term care home.

CUPE Local 1792 had stated 21 full-time and eight part-time positions could be cut at the long-term care home, impacting personal support workers (PSWs) and registered practical nurses (RPNs) in particular, under a new schedule that was set to be implemented in October. Choosing shifts according to the new schedules and seniority had been put on hold.
