INDIANAPOLIS – Bishop Luers stanched the bleeding after Cascade scored three first-quarter touchdowns in the Class 3A state finals, but the Knights couldn't close an early 19-point deficit and fell 29-14 at Lucas Oil Stadium on Friday afternoon.
The No. 10 Knights (9-6) have now fallen in the Class 3A state finals in back-to-back seasons, while the No. 3 Cadets (15-0) were victorious in their first trip to the state finals.
Cascade needed almost no time to show off the offense that came into Friday's state championship averaging nearly 55 points. Just a few plays into the game, junior running back Luke Farmer appeared to be down before the line of scrimmage, but he pulled away from the Bishop Luers defender, shook off another Knight as he approached the sideline, ran about 10 yards down
