LOUISVILLE, Ky. —
A Louisville man is behind bars after allegedly sending a child to the hospital in critical condition in October.
Jorge Jesus Perez-Ramirez was arrested on Wednesday and charged with first-degree assault and first-degree criminal abuse of a child 12 or under.
Court records say on Oct. 14, Perez-Ramirez was looking after a child who suffered an injury and was taken to immediate care in critical condition. The child was then transported to Norton Children's Hospital due to the severity of their injuries.
After a medical assessment was completed, it was determined the child's injuries were consistent with pediatric abusive head trauma.
