DULUTH, Minn. (Northern News Now) - There are many people in the medical world questioning a change put forth recently by the Trump administration.

Nursing was among the professions left off a list of “professional” degrees.

And closer to home in the Northland, it’s a move that our local healthcare professionals are saying may have implications for students, schools, and the future of the nursing workforce.

This plan to redefine what constitutes a professional degree not only excludes nursing from the list, but it would also limit access to student loans — the move has left both national and local health care organizations concerned about the future workforce.
