COLUMBIA, S.C. (WIS) - Bargains drew big crowds across the Midlands on Black Friday, from early-morning doorbusters to steady traffic through the afternoon.
At Academy Sports + Outdoors in the Harbison neighborhood, clothing and apparel were flying off the shelves, according to store staff.
The retailer was offering 30 off all Nike apparel.
Research from the National Retail Federation shows about 187 million people planned to shop on Black Friday, either in stores or online. That number is down about 10 million from the previous year.
Lines formed throughout the day at stores in the area near Columbiana Mall.
Ronald, a shopper at Academy Sports, said his Black Friday started at 9 a.m. with a trip to Fort Jackson before visiting multiple stores.
