CEDAR FALLS, IOWA (KWWL) - The Christmas spirit arrived early in the Cedar Valley on Friday. Kris Kringle’s Tree Farm kicked off its 18th season with record breaking crowds on opening day.

Families lined up before the gates opened at 9 a.m. as visitors waited to pick out their Christmas tree and continue long-standing family traditions.

The family-owned farm, run by Danny Moulds, has become a beloved holiday destination known for its handcrafted wreaths, along with hot cocoa, s’mores by the fire, custom decor, and visits from Santa.

Moulds says the farm plants about 5,000 trees annually, with plans to harvest approximately 2,100 this season.

The farm is open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. today and Saturday, November 29th, and from noon to 4 p.m. on Sunday. However, due to a snowstorm advisory,
