CORALVILLE, Iowa (KCRG) - Black Friday might not draw the same crowds that it did 20 years ago. But people still flocked to the Coral Ridge Mall in Coralville to score deals in person.
“Every year, we shop until we drop. It’s dark when we leave and it’s dark when we get home,” Caitlin Mandsager said.
Black Friday shopping at Coral Ridge Mall is an annual affair for Mandsager.
Each year her family wears matching outfits to celebrate the day.
“We get a lot of Christmas shopping done. We’re able to hit a lot of places all at once,” Mandsager said.
Mandsager’s family wasn’t the only group TV9 spoke to that was shopping in special outfits.
“It’s a family tradition. We all have Thanksgiving yesterday and then today’s our shopping day,” Ronda Hampshire said.
