The Vancouver Canucks have posted a very good road record this season and a bad record at home, but neither tells the true story of the season and both obscure the reality of the Canucks’ situation.

Going into Friday’s matinee in San Jose, the Canucks were sporting a very solid 7-5-1 history on the road, which is especially stark in comparison to the meagre three wins they have managed at home.

But when you start to dig below the surface, you see elements of luck on the road and bad luck at home.
