BRYAN, Texas (KBTX) - Thanksgiving traditions can be found all over the Brazos Valley, but one has stood strong for 37 years.
Pleasant Grover Baptist Church had a different use today, as it smelled of turkey and stuffing. Gloria Kennard has kept her annual Thanksgiving Meal going year after year to give back to her community.
“What this event means to me is God has blessed me to be able to help people, and I’m going to do it because God wants us to help one another,” Kennard said.
With the help of the Rotary Club of College Station, the church, and dozens of volunteers, the event served more than 2000 meals. Volunteer Hardy Nevill expressed why he gives back his time to the community.
