INDIANAPOLIS — Monument Circle was filled with thousands of people Friday night as a beloved Indianapolis tradition returned and filled the night with the familiar sight of Christmas lights.
The 63rd Annual Downtown Indy Circle of Lights presented by IBEW 481 featured the lighting of nearly 4,800 light bulbs around the Soldiers and Sailors Monument. There were also live performances on the stage.
It was one of several events happening in downtown Indianapolis on Friday. The IHSAA football state championships were at Lucas Oil Stadium throughout the day. The Indiana Pacers are hosting the Washington Wizards at Gainbridge Fieldhouse.
Downtown Indy Alliance said the Circle of Lights would be a great place to be before tip-off.
"It actually makes for the perfect first stop," said Taylor Sc
