MACON, Ga. — The end is in sight.
The high school football season and Football Friday Night are set to end soon, as the GHSA playoffs enter its quarterfinals.
Only five Central Georgia teams remain in the big dance, after several fell last week. Northeast, Fizgerald, Wheeler County and Sumter County all hit the road this week for a big-time playoff game.
Meanwhile, West Laurens had the honor of hosting its playoff game, the likely last home game the team will get to hold in 2025.
While the GHSA teams continue, GIAA squads Brentwood, Stratford and John Milledge are still enjoying their shiny state championship trophies.
