A man threatened his housemate with a knife before stealing his car and crashing it. Michael Waring then bit a police officer's finger and assaulted another as he attempted to avoid arrest.
He was eventually detained and charged. Now the 35-year-old, of Marsh House Lane in Warrington, has been jailed for 28 months after appearing at Liverpool Crown Court this week.
Waring pleaded guilty to affray, possession of a knife, aggravated vehicle taking, assault and assault by beating an emergency worker. The court heard that shortly after midnight on May 26, Waring entered his housemate's bedroom and ordered him to drive him to 'The Pool'.
He refused and Waring threatened him with a knife, then stole his car keys and mobile. Waring tried to drive off from the address but crashed in
