Multiple people were taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries after a bus transporting workers to Taseko's Gibraltar copper mine northeast of Williams Lake left the road on Friday.

The Gibraltar copper mine is the same location where a contractor was found deceased one week ago .

In a statement, the company says that early this morning, the bus left the road less than one kilometre from the mine gate.

" Upon leaving the road, the bus remained upright and came to an abrupt stop," the company said. " Eight employees plus the bus driver were transported to the hospital."

Additional details of their injuries was not released.

RCMP and B.C. Emergency Health Services say they were called to the scene shortly
