LAREDO, Tex. (KGNS) - A Laredo landowner is preparing to fight federal plans for border wall construction on his family’s property as the community continues to react to the ongoing project.
Ricardo De Anda, who owns land on Pico Road in north Laredo, said the federal government has targeted his property for the wall.
“That if they put a wall within the city limits, it’s going to have dire effects. And if they are going to do that they pay for it,” De Anda said.
De Anda’s family has owned the land for many years. The property sits adjacent to the river between Colombia Bridge and the city of Laredo.
“I own property that is adjacent to the river, up river from Laredo, between Colombia Bridge and the city of Laredo,” De Anda said. “My property is on the map . It’s subject to the wall
