ROCHESTER, Minn. — The Rochester Youth Hockey Association's Peewee A and Peewee AA teams are taking on a new challenge to help fight hunger in the community.
Their donation drive, "Mustangs Hockey SHUT OUT HUNGER," aims to support individuals experiencing homelessness in Rochester. The drive continues through December 2 at Graham Arena.
Collection boxes are set up near the teams' locker rooms during practices. Players, families, and community members are encouraged to donate food and basic-needs items for The Landing MN, a local nonprofit serving adults experiencing homelessness.
Items requested include beef sticks, Hormel Compleats meals, nut packs, fruit cups, travel-size hygiene products, and adult warm gloves. The teams will compete to see who can collect the most donations.
