The Claremont Symphony Orchestra, conducted by Robert Sage, will present a concert of music by Schubert and Beethoven 3:30 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 30, at Bridges Hall of Music on the Pomona College campus, 140 E. Fourth St., Claremont.
Admission is free.
On the program are the overture to Franz Schubert’s 1823 opera “Fierrabras,” which was not performed during his lifetime; Schubert’s Symphony No. 8 (“Unfinished”); and Ludwig van Beethoven’s violin concerto, with violin soloist Lyndon Johnston Taylor.
In the Beethoven violin concerto, Taylor will play his arrangement of a cadenza originally written for a later piano version of the concerto, according to a news release from the Claremont Symphony.
