GREENVILLE, N.C. (WITN) - While some were out Black Friday shopping, Greenville 50501 and others were hosting a protest called ‘Blackout Black Friday.’

A group gathered on Evans and 10th Street on Friday advocating for less big business spending at popular Black Friday shopping locations.

Target, Home Depot and Amazon all fell under the umbrella of businesses being boycotted by those protesting at the Evans and 10th Street intersection.

“If you gotta shop for Black Friday, shop local. Let’s shop small with our neighbors and keep the money out of big money politics,” Michael Tann, A member of the Greenville NC 50501 Chair, told WITN.

“We are all for shopping, shopping local businesses, small businesses, and in our community,” protester Patty Crew told WITN.
