What you need to know about snowfall in the UK and Ireland in December
Two storms are predicted to bring heavy rain and as much as 10cm (four inches) of snow for some parts of the country
At midday on Friday December 4, all of England and Wales will be battered by rain , according to the advanced modelling weather forecast. Snow will hit northern and central Scotland and move into England, Wales and Northern Ireland the following day
On Saturday December 5, light snow could fall in Northern Ireland at around midday, with much heavier snow hitting Ireland. Dublin will be hit particularly badly and in England the snow will first fall around the Yorkshire Dales and Pennines before spreading throughout the day, data suggests
