The Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) has issued a warning to anyone with a National Insurance number. Many fraudsters may be looking at a myriad of ways to to steal your personal information with the key goal of stealing your identity.

Reportedly, in the past six months of 2025 alone, there have been 118,000 reported cases of identity theft throughout the UK. Fraudsters who steal victims' identities can use that information to take out loans and even make insurance claims in their name.
