RENO, Nev. (KOLO) - The day after Thanksgiving, black Friday, is a holiday on its own.
Following a night of eating turkey and mashed potatoes, shoppers rush to the stores to find the best holiday deals, although, there seems to be less fighting over parking spots and toys with the increase in online shopping.
Economists wondered what this year’s holiday shopping rush would look like, following the longest government shutdown in United States history.
According to Retail Association of Nevada, Nevada consumers are expected to spend $6.5 billion on gifts, food, décor, and other seasonal items.
This means there is a projected 4 percent increase from last year’s record spending, based on data from the National Retail Federation (NRF).
