PHILADELPHIA – Chicago Bears safety C.J. Gardner-Johnson was no stranger to Lincoln Financial Field when he returned Sunday afternoon to face his former team.
Gardner-Johnson, who helped the Eagles win the Super Bowl last season, played a key role in the Bears’ 24-15 victory that propelled Chicago, ahead of Philadelphia into the second seed in the NFC and helped the Bears maintain their lead in the NFC North.
Gardner-Johnson, who was traded March 12 for offensive lineman Kenyon Green and a 2026 sixth-round pick, finished the game with three tackles and a quarterback hit. He spent a lot of time after the game talking to his old teammates, including wide receiver A.J. Brown , who had an extended discussion with him before the two went back to their respective locker rooms.
