MACON, Ga. — A woman is dead after a fatal crash on Interstate 475 in Macon , according to a release from the Bibb County Sheriff's Office.
The release said that, around 5 p.m. on Friday, a woman was driving a Jeep southbound on I-475. She had a passenger with her.
Coroner Leon Jones said that Tammi Lamar, 54, was the driver. Jones said Lamar was driving a 1999 Honda CRV
The sheriff's office said Lamar lost control of the jeep and overturned near the Zebulon Road exit.
According to the sheriff's office, Lamar was ejected from the vehicle. The passenger was in the car and had to be rescued by the Macon-Bibb County Fire Department.
The release said both were brought to a local hospital, where the driver was pronounced dead. The passenger is in stable condition.
