TUCSON, Ariz. (KVOA) - "Gunny" Barreras Memorial Park is set to be transformed with a vibrant new ground mural, celebrating the life of Army Ranger Gunny Barreras.

On Nov. 29 at 9 a.m., two large murals will be installed at "Gunny" Barreras Memorial Park, 5890 S. Campbell Ave., to honor Barreras, who was killed in action in 2014.

The family of Gunny Barreras, city officials and possibly Congresswoman Adelita Grijalva are expected to attend.

Peniel Macias is the artist behind the murals, inviting community participation and engagement.
