MESA (AZFamily) — A man faces aggravated assault charges after police said he caused a multi-vehicle crash late Thursday.
Just before midnight, officers responded to the area of Alma School Road and Main Street on reports of a three-car crash and at least one man running from the scene.
There were reports of gunfire, but police said they found no evidence anyone had been shot.
A K-9 unit arrived to assist officers and detectives from patrol and specialty units.
During the search, the K-9 led officers to a nearby trailer park, where they located the suspect.
Police said the man was resistant and noncompliant, and officers used less-lethal force.
The K-9 was eventually deployed and bit the suspect, leading to him being taken into custody.
