The road to Arizona high school football supremacy once again runs through a collision between familiar foes as two-time defending Open Division champion Liberty (10-1) squares off against Basha (10-1) in Saturday night’s state semifinal at Corona del Sol High School in Tempe.

The Lions, who dismantled Red Mountain 48-23 in last week’s quarterfinals, will face a Bears squad hungry for redemption after Liberty defeated them 35-17 in last year’s championship game.

Basha enters with momentum after a convincing 33-10 victory over Williams Field in its quarterfinal matchup.

With both powerhouses sporting identical 10-1 records, this semifinal showdown promises championship-caliber intensity with the winner advancing to the December 6 title game against either Hamilton or Chandler.
