The Dan Lever era of Silverton football has finally reached the top of the mountain.
On Friday night at Hillsboro Stadium, the Foxes battled to a 24-14 victory against Summit in a game where defense seemed to reign supreme.
The first quarter was a deadlock between the two teams, who were successful at moving the ball down the field but couldn’t finish drives.
Summit stopped Silverton at midfield on and got the ball back after a turnover on downs. On the first play of the drive, Jude Anderson broke off for a 49-yard touchdown to break the scoreless tie.
On the next drive, Silverton shot down the field with deep passes from Chase Dominguez to Sutton Kuenzi and Gavin Aguero. The later went for 37 yards and was good for a touchdown, tying the game up at 7-7.
