The No. 12/SN No. 7 Allen [TX] Eagles exploded for 28 second-quarter points here Friday night en route to 56-13 rout of the unranked Permian [Odessa, TX] Panthers in the third round of the Texas UIL Class 6A Division I playoffs.

The Eagles led just 7-0 after the firs quarter before the floodgates opened, and by the time the halftime arrived, they were ahead, 35-0. The Eagles added another touchdown to lead, 42-0, before Permian could even get on the board.

The Panthers showed some fight late after the game was out of reach, outscoring Allen, 13-6, down
