ROCHESTER, Minn.- Santa Claus was rescued by the Rochester Fire Department for the 51st time from the top of the Old City Hall apartment building in downtown Rochester on Friday, Nov. 28.
Caleb Feine, assistant fire chief for the RFD, says that while he doesn't think Santa has learned his lesson yet, the department is proud to be part of the ongoing tradition.
"My favorite part is seeing everybody come out and come together. First Avenue is absolutely packed. Everyone from young kids to older adults, it was just awesome to see everyone come out and enjoy this today," Feine said.
Following his rescue Santa Claus assisted Mayor Kim Norton and Rochester Downtown Alliance's executive director, Shawn Fagan, with lighting the Peace Plaza Christmas tree as part of the annual Here Comes Santa
