Merthyr Ski Slope VOX

For decades Merthyr Tydfil suffered the decline of Welsh mining and mourned its glorious past. But in recent years the town has enjoyed a huge rebirth. Regeneration, new investment and infrastructure have brought new life. Today Merthyr is once again a bustling hub, and now a new age of industry might just be dawning.

The people of the town have this week given a big thumbs up to plans for the UK's longest ski slope and tropical waterpark which is set to be built here.

The planned Rhydycar West resort is anchored around key elements including the UK’s largest and longest indoor snow centre which will be the official home and training headquarters for the UK (GB) and Welsh national, Olympic and Paralympic snow sports teams.
