BEMIDJI, Minn. — UND played without senior center Ellis Rickwood on Friday night.
Its two rookies are pretty good, though.
Freshmen centers Cole Reschny and Ollie Josephson each tallied three points, combined to win 61% of faceoffs and led the Fighting Hawks to a 5-3 win over Bemidji State in the Sanford Center.
Reschny had three assists. Josephson scored a goal and tallied two assists.
"They're such strong two-way players," UND coach Dane Jackson said. "We've talked about the heavy responsibility that is for two young guys in college hockey. They're playing against other teams' best players. They're penalty killing. They're power playing. They were out in the last minute of the game. That's a huge place to start.
