ATLANTA — Holiday spirit was in the air at Atlantic Station Friday evening. Shoppers were out buying gifts, but also treating themselves too.

The Black Friday finds brought smiles to Annie Fearrington and her family, visiting from North Carolina.

"We wanted to get out and see what Atlanta was all about, do a little shopping, and enjoy our time while we were here, said Fearrington.

As people do holiday shopping, economist and finance professor at Emory University's Goizueta Business School, Tom Smith, cautions that while deals are definitely out there, things might cost more than last year.

"I think that the tariffs have had a significant impact on keeping prices up," Smith said.

He hasn't seen any particular category with hotter deals than the rest.
